Ryno’s passion for aviation took off in 2015 when he left the logistics industry to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. Just two years later, he earned his Commercial Pilot’s License, marking the start of a new chapter in his career.
His journey didn’t stop there, driven by a love for flight and a desire to share his knowledge, he obtained his instructor’s rating in 2019. Since then, he has dedicated over 1,300 hours to flight training, guiding aspiring pilots from foundational ab-initio lessons to advanced CPL techniques and the challenges of Bush flying.
Beyond training new aviators, Ryno also works with highly qualified pilots, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate the diverse terrain and demanding conditions of African skies. His expertise ensures that pilots—whether beginners or seasoned professionals—are prepared for the unique challenges of flying across the continent.
A Passion Forged in Dedication: Charl Liebenberg’s Flight Training Journey
Charl Liebenberg embarked on his aviation journey in 2017, starting his PPL training while still in school. By 2019, the same year he matriculated, he had already earned his Private Pilot’s License, setting the stage for a determined path toward his dream of becoming a professional pilot.
The road to CPL was anything but easy, driven by unwavering passion, he funded his training through hard-earned wages as a waiter, embracing a humble lifestyle to keep his dreams aloft. In 2023, his dedication paid off as he achieved his CPL ME IR and joined BushPilot Adventures, taking his skills to new heights.
In 2024, Charl obtained his instructor rating and has since trained numerous pilots on the C182 and C206, helping them refine their craft. His expertise extends beyond standard instruction—he has been trained to deliver the renowned bushpilot course and has presented it many times, equipping pilots with the skills to navigate Africa’s challenging terrain.
Charl’s skill level is such that he doesn’t just train aspiring aviators—he also works with highly experienced pilots, sharpening their bush flying skills and preparing them for the unique demands of flying in remote regions. His deep knowledge and commitment to excellence have made him a valued member of the team, respected for his ability to elevate pilots of all levels
